Ana Hinshaw, LCSW #82222

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the mental health field since 2010. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 2014 with my Master of Social Work degree, and I attained my LCSW in March of 2018. I have experience working with a wide range of behavioral/mental health issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal problems. I have worked and volunteered across a variety of settings, including nonprofits, group homes, and crisis centers. I also have experience providing intervention support in the field, such as school-based or home-based sessions. I’ve worked with clients who might require additional resources and can offer referrals and relevant information if needed. Most of my experience has been with adolescents and young adults, but I have worked with clients from ages 2- to over 75-years-old.

My counseling style is based on humanistic, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches. I truly believe that clients are the experts of their own lives, and I wish to empower them as much as possible. As a counselor, my job is to listen and explore what behavioral/mental issues and stressors are impacting a client’s life. When appropriate, we might review various interventions, such as education about a specific issue, coping skills to manage stress, or interpersonal skills to improve relationships. My goal is to act as an objective sounding board, and I want clients to feel free to discuss anything with me.

I look forward to working with you!
